Our first full week!

CamSix415 Parents,

Here we go! Our first full week, and many more to come this month. So far this week, we’ll be rolling out Google Classroom¬†and also a program known as Reading Glue. As far as Reading Glue, I need your cooperation and permission to use your email so that we, both, can keep up with your child’s reading this year. I have found the last few years that when students read, and read a lot, it’ll elevate their writing, comprehension, and endurance to work with mathematical word problems. If you wish to NOT have your email used for Reading Glue, please email me by this coming Tuesday, July 28th.

Also, in the spirit of being a family at Camarena, we love to support our Kindergarten class as they adjust to school for the first week. For that reason I’m attaching a color code for our students to wear to support identifying colors for our little friends.

Lastly, on August 5 (Wednesday) we’ll be having our Curriculum Night as a little meet/greet, and go over our curriculum expectations for the 2015 – 2016 school year. There will be two sessions that will begin at 5:30 and the next one at 6:15, just in case your child has siblings.

Please do not hesitate to email me at christopher.garcia@cvesd.org if you have any questions.

One important aspect of our academic year is the participation in physical education. Below is how we accomplish at least 200 minutes within at least 10 days.

Monday – Thursday: 8:15 – 8:35 = 20 minutes each day (Totaling 80 minutes)

Friday: 11:30am – 12:15pm = 45 minutes

Weekly: 125 minutes

Monthly: 500 minutes

Take into consideration, that there are rainy day schedules, collaboration times, and also dance instruction included in these minutes.
