Three More Weeks! But first…let me…get to work (No Selfies needed)

CamSix415 Parents,

It’s that time of the year where delayed gratification and managing our time is crucial. As the evenings get colder, the football games more intense, and the feeling of lounging by the fireplace (hopefully it will be cold enough) seem tempting, we have work to do…then we’ll celebrate!

This week, we have several important things happening. Tuesday & Wednesday our students will be testing their writing skills on producing an argument writing piece. Please make sure your child rests the night before, eats breakfast, and also dresses warm (it’ll be raining through the week).

Also, we have our Gallery of Experts happening in three weeks. It’s a showcase where you are the audience and have the opportunity to see how your child has incorporated all their learning in language arts, writing, and science/social studies in their Gallery of Experts project. Because of the importance of this event, I’ll be more than glad to open the doors of our classroom as a study hall after school from 2:45 – 3:45 pm. The students will have access to laptops, iPads, and I’ll be able to answer any questions that they may have. I usually have tutoring on Monday’s and Tuesday’s so their company in the class won’t be a hinderance, as long as they are focused and working.

I need your help! First, I need your help in making sure your child stays accountable to the work being assigned. I know many of you ask your children, “Do you have any homework?” or “Is your homework done?”, but if you could go the extra step and have your child show you what their homework may be would be great. Ask them, “Please show me your TenMarks, Blog draft, Science/Social Studies notes.” I’ve had several stories where parents come to me saying, “I’ve been asking Tiny Tim if his homework is finished, and he said yes.” It’s imperative that we work together in making sure you’re child is dedicating the work week to their education.

Second, I’ve attached the following links regarding our Winter Wonderland taking place on December 5th from 4pm – 7pm. Please click on the following links to see how our class needs your help.

If you’ve made it to the end of this note, congratulations. Thank you for your investment towards your child. I’m here to serve and answer any questions you may have.

Winter Wonderland Marvel Gift Basket

Marvel Logo

CamSix415 Parents,

During our Winter Wonderland Festival, we’ll have a silent auction taking place. Our classroom gift basket theme is Marvel, and I’ve attached the photos to help you recognize some of your favorite super heroes. At this point, we’ll take anything related to Marvel from toys, DVD’s, candy, comic books, house-hold decorations, Movie Tickets, etc. The key is that it has to be Marvel, thus make sure you look at the logo and don’t mistaken Superman or Batman in this genre. Marvel superheroes include the Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk), the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Spiderman, and Agents of Shield.

The due date for these supplies to be collected will be Friday, December 5th. During that weekend I’ll need a parent volunteer to help package the gift basket. If you’re unable to donate financially, but can donate some of your time that would be appreciated as well. Please send me an email at if you’re able to help set up the gift basket (or have a BIG BASKET to donate). All funds raised go towards PTA, who partner with us to take care of the buses to go to 6th Grade camp.

Winter Wonderland Sign Up

It’s that time of year again where we gather as a community to celebrate the gift of life we have, and enjoy the opportunities to make memories with our families. I can remember the most enjoyable times of my life were when my parents would take me to my school carnival and I could see my teachers, friends, and enjoy all the food. This year promises to be one of the biggest turnouts (that’s right, year two!) and we would be honored to have you help us fundraise to ensure we have plenty of finances to celebrate the end of our 6th grade year in a few months. I’ve attached a Google Form for your convenience to sign up to help us out.

If you have any questions, please email me at Again, thank you for your support!

Holiday ChromeBook Investment

Parents of CamSix415,

I hope you are well and enjoying the beginning of the Holiday season. Whatever our background, it’s an important time of the year to reflect with our family and appreciate the life that we all have together.

If you’re looking/thinking of what to give your child as a gift this Holiday season I have a suggestion/investment that will help your child further their education for the 21st Century. As you know, we’ve been using Google Apps for Education for our communication, collaboration, and writing. One of the lost items lost within the Black Friday shopping happens to be a Google Chromebook.

Some of my reasons for suggesting this particular item is because regardless of the price you invest in the Chromebook, they all work the same. All a Google Chromebook is a web browser (using Chrome), and it allows your child to have access to their favorite websites, Google Docs, Google Slides (aka Power Point), Pandora, Spotify, and even Netflix. Most importantly, I say this is an investment because this is a laptop that will last from now until the end of high school.

The beauty of this device is that the cost ranges from $175 to $275. I’ve even sold my MacBook Air in lieu of using my ChromeBook. Click on the the picture below to be taken to

Again, no pressure in making this investment, it’s just a suggestion. If you child already has an iPad then I would NOT suggest to get this (Unless you want the iPad or would like to sell it).

Stay safe during this Holiday season, and if you have any technical questions I’ll do my best to guide and help you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Your Child’s Writing is Online!

Parents! Welcome to the first day of November. It’s finally nice to have some cooler
weather and let’s hope it stays around for a while. I wanted to share with you that your
child has been writing a blog post for the last couple of weeks. I’d love to have your
support to read their writing and give them a comment (and ask clarifying questions).

Please visit

There you can see their writing, and push them to think further. In addition, if you
don’t see your child’s writing on there, then it may be a good point to have
encouraging talk about staying accountable to their work.

Thanks again for your support. The success of your child can only come if we work
