Here we are getting ready for week five. Where has the time gone? Only about 4 weeks left for the first quarter. This week is an exciting week! First off this coming Tuesday we’ll be having our Curriculum Night at 5pm. We’ll have to sessions, one at 5pm and another one at 7pm. Hopefully that’ll help you if you have more than one child attending Camarena. Please note that children are NOT allowed.
This Wednesday is Picture Day! We’re “scheduled” to take our photos Wednesday morning, so please have your child dress in their Sunday best/business casual.
Also, your students will be receiving their Atom papers back this week. I added comments and would like to have them rewrite their papers. This year, our focus on all subjects will be the importance of feedback. Here’s a video that explains the core values of feedback for Camarena Elementary:
Other than that, we’ll have a normal week filled with academics and opportunities to grow socially. I’m honored to be in this profession and be part of such an exciting learning community. Parents, continue to encourage your children in their academics and challenge them to continually read, read, and read.
Hope this weekend was restful for you and your family. This past Friday, our grade level assessed our students in the first ten lessons we’ve covered in ratios, as well as our language arts read out loud “Bud, Not Buddy.” Tomorrow (Monday), you’ll receive both exams to review with your child. Please celebrate the strengths and reflect on what could be better for next time. It’s my joy to make sure they show growth, and I’ll continually supply them with learning activities and opportunities to display that growth.
Also be sure to check out our book fair this week. I can’t emphasis enough how important reading is for our students. Check out the selection of books our fair will have by clicking here. If you’re looking for something that is grade level appropriate or would like reviews on specific books, check out the Scholastic App for your iOS or Android device.
Please mark your calendars for August 19th, and join me for our yearly Curriculum Night. I’ll have more details next week, but I’m excited to spend time with all of you in my classroom.
Here’s to a successful week!
CamSix 415 Parents,
I hope all of you had a great weekend. I just finished imputing grades, and I’m impressed with the commitment to completing homework. More importantly, this shows that you are completely invested in the the progress of your child.
Nothing out of the ordinary for this week. Please note that on August 19th, we’ll have our Curriculum Night (or Back to School Night). More details will come as the date approaches, but rest assured that I’ll have two meeting times that night just in case you have several children attending Camarena.
A BIG THANK YOU to all those who have brought supplies for our class, especially the clorox wipes and hand sanitizer.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if there are any questions that may come up. I’m here to serve you and your family.
